The Little Foxes

Whether an activity takes a few minutes or several hours, scheduling time for it makes what would not be natural or enjoyable, habitual. My husband routinely sprays the vineyard on a certain day. Missing by a day or two is not going to hurt the harvest, but missing a spray will. The fungi and bugs do not stop multiplying while we wait for a better day. As Solomon says, “Catch us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines, for our vines have tender grapes.” In the same way we must brush our teeth, take our vitamins, say our prayers. We must listen to our friends and attend to our spouses, taking care of the routine so that the greater life can flourish.

It is my hope that our efforts in the vineyard translate to your enjoyment in the Tasting Room. And while the appreciation of good wine may draw you to farm, I hope the fellowship you find here uplifts you. Like attending church, the message may not routinely appeal to you, but hopefully the people do. Community is what brings you back and energizes you to serve the next generation. Knob Creek Museum and Vineyard gives a shout-out to friends on our Community Partners page.
